In plain words
Statistical offices occasionally revise published figures when better data arrives — more complete survey responses, corrected weights, or methodological improvements. In the explorer, we always show the current official figure, which may differ from what was published at first release.
Frequently asked questions
Are inflation figures ever revised?
Rarely, but yes. The BLS may revise CPI data within 30 days of first release. Eurostat HICP data can be revised when more complete national data arrives. Revisions are usually small but can matter for inflation-linked contract settlements.
